Captain Wild Bill sells $330K truck

Captain Wild Bill was the owner of a 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer, made by Arizona-based custom shop, Hogan Built. He often showed off his wheels on Deadliest Catch, but has sold the truck for $330K.

The well-known vehicle was sold in January 2024 but news of its sale has only just reached Discovery Channel fans. It comes after he was told he has prostate cancer by a doctor.

He is now undergoing treatment for the next six to eight months, following the news. The captain headed out to sea after finding out, which saw doctors look at him “like he’s lost his mind“.

Deadliest Catch star had wheels restored

Wild Bill’s truck underwent a complete restoration, which involved the vehicle being taken down to bare metal and returned with a new finish. The exterior color was restored to the original Medium Olive.

Two-toned with a Crème Brulee lower quarter, the colors were separated by MAR-K trim with the addition of a one-of-a-kind wood-grain insert. The chassis was sandblasted and metal-worked.

After fabrication, the chassis was smoothed and finished in a gloss black powder coat, while the axles and brake system were completely revamped throughout the truck.

Fans hope captain is okay

Deadliest Catch fans have been concerned about Wild Bill since he shared his cancer diagnosis on the Discovery Channel show. Looking at his socials, he’s doing okay and spending time with his daughter.

When one viewer noticed he was selling his truck, they wrote, “Seems to be doing fine.” But another disagreed and commented, “If he’s selling off his prized possessions then maybe he isn’t doing so fine.”

“Probably needs money for treatment,” guessed a fan. A fellow Deadliest Catch viewer said, “If he got $330k for a vehicle, I would think he could afford health insurance.”

She keeps me inline. Put up with a lot last few months
