Fabian murder case shocks Germany: Lawyers for the mother and the arrested woman make explosive statements.

Following a breakthrough in the Fabia murder case, a family acquaintance is under suspicion. How Fabia’s mother is coping and what the accused’s lawyer has to say. Shock and disbelief are apparently the prevailing emotions after the decisive breakthrough in the Fabia murder case, both on the part of the mother of the murdered eight-year-old and also on the part of the arrested woman. After the latter was taken into custody on Friday on suspicion of committing a crime, her lawyer issued a statement. Meanwhile, the lawyer for Fabian’s mother offered insight into the inner life of her client. Investigators have not yet released any information about the identity of the woman suspected of the crime. According to Harald Nowack of the Rostock Public Prosecutor’s Office, any information, however small, could directly lead to the identification of the woman, as she is believed to be in a rural setting. As long as she has not been convicted, the presumption of guilt applies. On the day of her arrest, police officers searched several properties in Reimershagen and the district of Röm Kugel. According to Nordkriter information, this also included the home of the former philanderer belonging to Fabian’s father. Several items were seized during the search, including the former philanderer’s car.

The statement from the public prosecutor’s office regarding the arrest and all details of the investigation can be seen above in the video. Fabian’s mother is particularly upset because she is being held hostage, lawyer Christina Habethader told Bild. “And she kept her from a coherent situation in which she says that the accused was actually close to the child. Otherwise, the mother would not have allowed her to have contact with the child,” the lawyer is quoted as saying. There were also children living in the neighborhood with whom Fabia often played. “For the young woman, it was a kind of second home,” Habetha continued. As Güstrow criminal defense lawyer Andreas Ohm confirmed to the Nordkurier upon request, he was appointed as the public defender for the female suspect. However, he has not yet received any documents relating to the case. Andreas Ohm (CDU) is currently also President of the Güstrow City Council and has been practicing law since his admission in 2002 – not only in criminal law, but also in family law. Furthermore, he taught criminal law for many years at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration, Justice and Police in Güstrow.

In an interview with RTL, Ohm said that the arrest had taken his suspect by surprise and because she hadn’t expected it. “It’s no secret: Anyone who is arrested is shaken. Naturally, the accused broke down in tears and was visibly shaken, trembling.” Ohm also commented on the child of the arrested woman, who is said to be about the same age as Fabian. According to his knowledge, the son has been placed in the care of family and youth welfare services by the Rostock district. “How things will proceed will certainly be clarified by the family court here in Güstrow.” In conclusion, Ohm explained that he is a police officer and would not refuse to cooperate with the press “in order to possibly contribute to clarifying this case.”
