Former TLC star Joseph Duggar was arrested and charged with molesting a 9-year-old girl in the state of Florida.  After he was arrested, the former star of 19 Kids and Counting was sent to the Washington County Jail in Arkansas. Arkansas police went to his house after he was arrested. The Tontitown Police Department found more proof that Duggar should be charged. They charged Joseph with new crimes, and they also charged his wife, Kendra, with the same ones.

Protestia, a Christian website, said that when police officers went to the Duggars’ house to arrest Joseph, they found padlocks on all the children’s doors. This would have made it impossible for them to get out in case of a fire or other emergency.

Joseph Duggar Could Get More Time Than Josh

Joseph Duggar was charged with Lewd and Lascivious Behavior—Molestation of a Victim Less Than 12 Years Old and Lewd and Lascivious Behavior Conducted by a Person 18 Years or Older. The sentence means he could spend the rest of his life in jail. If the victim is younger than 12 and the offender is 18 or older, the crime is a “life felony” in Florida.

He is in the Washington County Detention Center in Arkansas because of the SA crime that happened in Florida. As police find more evidence, the open investigation could lead to more charges. Joe went to court in Arkansas on Zoom on Friday, March 20.

In 2023, Governor Ron DeSantis put legislation into effect that allows prosecutors to seek death. The law permits the death penalty for adults convicted of raping children under the age of 12.

Jill and Jessa are two of the five victims of Josh Duggar. Jessa posted and then deleted a statement about her younger brother’s actions. She said, “Our hearts are grieving for this innocent young girl, and we know this is deeply grievous to God, who cares tenderly for children and the vulnerable. We are keeping her in our prayers.”

Jill & Derick Dillard jointly released a statement saying in part, “We strongly condemn abuse. We support the rule of law and hope that justice will be achieved,” the statement continued. “Our hearts go out to the innocent juvenile victim of this unspeakable crime and her family. Joseph, Jim Bob, and Michelle Duggar’s seventh child, has given up his right to an extradition hearing in Arkansas. The sheriff of Arkansas has stressed that the TLC star will not get any special treatment. Duggar will be sent to Florida soon to face his serious charges.
