‘SUCH A FLOP’ Big Brother cancels promised twists and show shakeups after tech blunders and schedule issues led to ‘worst season yet’

BIG Brother has canceled its promised twists and show shakeups after a series of tech blunders led to the ‘worst season yet,’ The U.S. Sun can reveal.

Ahead of season 27 premiering back in July, CBS teased fans with a number of new twists they could expect with the show’s new house, which was a Hotel Mystere theme.

Among some of the fun shakeups the network promised was the set being “a suspense-filled hotel, complete with secrets, hidden passageways, and a mysterious vibe that sets the stage for a summer of intrigue.”

Fans pointed out that, despite stars like Rachel Reilly attempting to find hidden passageways, no secret spots appeared to be within the house.

The reception area was another “disappointing flop,” according to fans, after production also oversold what would happen in that room.

“Houseguests are welcomed by a wall of 75 key boxes, some filled with skeleton keys and other clues that might reveal themselves later in the game,” they said ahead of the season.

However, the reception room was not mentioned at all during the season and there were never any clues found in that area for the Houseguests.

According to a show insider, the confusion was caused by a “classic case of production overpromising.”

“They had big plans but all of their biggest swings ended up just totally flopping. The interactive set had technical issues so that played a part in why things were not featured as promised.

“But also, as the game played out, certain twists and advantages wouldn’t have fit into the season so it was a plot-driven decision too,” a source claimed.

Fans took notice of the empty promises and expressed their disappointment as season 27 comes to an end.

“The interior designer for the house this year understood the assignment, but they were the only one. The rest of production clearly thought mystery and horror were the same thing,” a viewer fired off.

“The cast hates the game so much that any twist would have failed miserably regardless but this happens every year recently: they introduce some overarching theme promising to add twists and intrigue and audience participation, it flops emphatically and the theme gradually disappears over time,” a second insisted.

“I was waiting for a secret key to be found that opened a special hidden room with advantages. But no, nothing. No one found anything mysterious this season, were there no things to find?” another questioned.

“They could have had haunted rooms, escape rooms, secret rooms, etc. It has been a distinct disappointment,” a critic stated.

“I remember at one point Rachel found prop evidence bags, and she would search the house out of boredom but never found anything,” a fan wrote, to which another replied and agreed that moment was “a big letdown.”

SHAKIN’ THINGS UP

In addition to twists and turns not playing out, this season’s schedule has been all over the place.

Multiple episodes of the season were delayed last minute due to unannounced changes, such as NFL games going overtime or awards shows taking place in their timeslot.

All of the changes come as The U.S. Sun was previously told that production has allegedly been scrambling to adjust to last-minute shakeups.

“The season schedule kind of bit production in the a** this year because the eviction schedule got thrown off balance.

“That mixed with other delays is what led to things like the twist that got Rachel and Keanu out.

“[Producers] realize it’s not what will be popular with fans and they hear the backlash loud and clear.

“Certain scheduling things pop up unexpectedly; it’s not avoidable with live TV. Producers will desperately try to avoid any elimination twists after seeing the reaction this season.”

The two-hour season 27 finale of Big Brother airs on Sunday, September 28th at 8:30 pm EST on CBS.
