‘SULLIVAN’S CROSSING,’ FIRST IMPRESSION OF LATEST SEASON FOUR

Featuring a familiar group of TV star faces and a blend of drama and feel-good, Sullivan’s Crossing returns for season four seemingly with its signature hallmarks.

Sullivan’s Crossing, Season Four (2026) CW TV Show Review

The return of her ex has set Maggie (Morgan Kohan) on edge. She wants to know why he’s back, which is what her questions for Liam (Marcus Rosner) are. Just as life was feeling settled and she and Cal (Chad Michael Murray) had made some decisions about their future, Maggie felt more at home. Now, she has new challenges.

None of this deals with the fact that in the thick of this all, Maggie’s father decides to move out of the country with his girlfriend.

Now, as Maggie and Cal work to navigate the return of Liam, old and new feelings are brought up as Cal tries to again deal with the idea he may lose Maggie.

Giving thoughts on the season four return of Sullivan’s Crossing is a little odd for a very important reason. You see, I have not seen seasons one through three. Initially I was going to binge them, but I really don’t enjoy that so instead, here we are. I have seen snippets of episodes, read recaps and see a bit of social media fodder for this one. So, while reviewing the start of the latest season is perhaps silly, here I am, doing it anyway, and feeling okay about it.

TV SHOW REVIEW | ‘THE WAY HOME’ SEASON FOUR: FIRST IMPRESSION OF EMOTIONAL END

The main reason for sharing thoughts on this new CW episode is that it’s the kind of show that you can do this with. Not unlike others I watch, this episode of Sullivan’s Crossing, the start of season four, is one with lots of back and forth and teases us with possibilities while staying mainly in the “comfort” level of storytelling. It’s also nice because now I don’t have to invest, one way or another, in any of the drama. I can skip the before, and just enjoy this episode as is. Plus I get to see Chad Michael Murray in something else. It has ups and downs and teases us with happily ever after before throwing some type of wrench into everything. This time just happens to be Maggie’s ex.

With the coziness of its small-town setting (a favorite storytelling trend) to its likable characters, this show is sure to give you plenty to root on.

Stream, at publication, seasons one through three of Sullivan’s Crossing on Netflix or with CWTV.com; and stream this season four first episode (next-day) on CWTV.com

Content: This one is TV-14 for some innuendo. We also see a couple in bed together and people live together if this bothers you. A couple passionately kiss and start to undress, then fall into bed.
